Microsoft Certification Second Shot to launch on January 13, 2010!

To encourage new career entrants as well as skills ‘upgrading’ among existing IT professionals, Microsoft will be launching the Certification Second Shot  offer from January 13, 2010!. Effective on January 13, 2010, a free second chance to pass a Microsoft IT Professional, Developer, or Microsoft Dynamics certification exam will be available. This offer is available worldwide, from January 13 – June 30, 2010  to anyone who registers for Second Shot and fails their first attempt at one of these exams. This is a limited time offer, so take advantage of the offer today!

1. Get engaged with your MSL PAM to learn more about Second Shot
2. Decide how you would like to participate:

ü Purchase pre-paid Second Shot vouchers

·    Available for purchase through Prometric beginning January 13, 2010 onwards

·    Can be redeemed with Second Shot between January 13 – June 30, 2010

·    On June 30, 2010, remaining Second Shot voucher inventory will automatically be converted to a single use voucher valid until December 31, 2010

ü Get your students to register and obtain the Second Shot voucher online themselves http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/offers/career.aspx

ü  Exam Voucher in the Windows 7 and/or Windows Server 2008 Courseware + Exam + Complimentary Software (NFR) package will be eligible for Second Shot

3. Plan and execute customer sales and marketing communication

·         Put up posters, hand out flyers

·         Send email to clients and prospects (template provided)

·         Update on hold message with Second Shot information

·         Update website with Second Shot offer

·         Email or call out to key target customers 

Here is how it works for candidates :

Step 1: Click to Register for Second Shot Voucher Code on the Microsoft site http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/offers/career.aspx and receive an exam voucher number via Prometric email.

Step 2: Using the voucher number, schedule and pay for your initial exam via Prometrics's web site, call center  or test center locations.  (You must have the voucher number available prior to registering.)

Step 3: Take your exam.

Step 4: If you fail, register for your free retake exam via Prometric's web site, call center or test center locations using the same voucher number. NOTE:  Please wait one day after the failed exam to register to allow for test results to be entered into the system.
